Utilities
Usually once you have bought a property in Italy the gas, electricity and telephone are disconnected so you will need to set up a new contract with a local provider of which you will need to show your stay permit and tax number.
Bills usually arrive every two months, these can be paid via utility offices, post offices or your local bank. Water charges are not usually charged in apartments but are charged on home meters.
Real Estate
Most people prefer to use professional Italian Real Estate Agents as you are less likely to be overcharged. However, you must be careful and make sure you choose one who speaks your language and has a good reputation, one who have guided others like yourself, in the same circumstances, as they can help you with e.g. transferring of money from UK to Italian bank accounts.
