<p>The sun will go down sooner like the UK and the clocks also go back at the end of October.</p>
<p>It is quieter than the summer but still October is a popular month to visit.</p>
<p>The average temperature in the North is between 7-18 C (44 -54 F)</p>
<p>The average temperature in the South is between 19-23 C (66-74F)</p>
<p>The average temperature in Central Italy is between 13-23C (56-71F)</p>
<p>Flights are usually cheaper at this time of year.</p>
<p>In the &#8216;fall&#8217; &#8216;autumn&#8217; in Italy foods around are truffles and wild mushrooms, grapes (wine), chocolate.  There are a few music and food festivals held and opera and theatre season.</p>
<p>A few festivals held in October are:-</p>
<p>World pasta day is 4th sunday in October.</p>
<p>Torrone (nougat) festival.</p>
<p>Rome film festival.</p>
